SIGNAL../..NOISE is one night for people who build../..break../..solder../..patch../..press record. No keynotes. No cover. Vibe with humans. Trade what you made for what they made.
The theme this year: the moment the scene got a modem. 1985 to 1994, when a local phone number could be a venue and the whole net felt like a show about to start. every homepage was a zine. every download was a dub. everybody you met was building something wild and nobody had asked permission to build it. people will tell you that feeling was naive. wrong. it was a spec, and we are still implementing it.
we still believe: anyone can publish../..everyone gets a stage../..distance is dead../..information wants a mosh pit../..the best copy is the one you hand to somebody../..UNDER CONSTRUCTION is a promise, not an apology

Demos and talks are DIY. carried in by attendees, like every good show. five minutes or fifty../..hardware or holler. if you can explain it in a hallway you can demo it here. some seeds:
